Merry and celebration will be in the air of Mewar as Baojiraj Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur’s soon-to-be held wedding to Maharaj Kumari Nivritti Kumari Singh Deo of Patna Balangir sees the beginning of auspicious ceremonies today.
With utmost pride for culture and his legacy, Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar, father of the bridegroom to be, has announced all ceremonies will be held in the most traditional style. The first in the string of events is Manvar Patrika (intimation in advance), which kicks off with a colourful procession from Shri Shiv Shakti Parisar in Zenana Deodhi, The Zenana Mahal, Udaipur to the royal residence, Shambhu Niwas Palace, Udaipur. A group of pandits and purohits of the House of Mewar will perform an elaborate prayer ceremony in honour of the legendary silver ink pot. Ink from this ink pot will then be used to write the invitation letter or patrika which will be taken to all the deities in a total of 21 temples with one of them being Shri Eklingji temple. This is done to invite the Gods as the primary guests at the wedding and seek their blessings. This ceremony will spread across several days, post which formal invitations will be personally made to the esteemed guest list.
Now that the momentum of the wedding is set to rise, please stay tuned with us here as we share with you our moments of joy till the nuptial day!
